I dont know if I ever blogged about Big brother before but it has been my summer obsession from BB7. Though I did skip BB10. BB13 is here and That fiery Redhead aka RACHEL is back in the house. Apparently, I love who America Loves to Hate all the time and she is my Pick to win this season… That Vibrant personality always has her in a corner with the other HGs (Houseguests)… Most Disliked for me has to be Porscha who I might refer to as Honda from time to time. She is such the flip flopper. OK maybe its b/c Rach always had her back and she totally Bashed her to Skeletor (Danielle) and Cow (Kalia)…

It has been a while since I have posted something meaningful or simply updated. I have been volunteering at the hospital for a little over a month now and this will go on till I leave for school ie: the end of summer. FINALLY, I will be getting licensed after wasting all this time so stay tuned for that. My driving instructor is So hilarious. He definitely keeps me entertained. As for work? You learn something new every day about the trade, life and even yourself.

Alcohol? Well thats for another day and another post. At the end of this summer, I will give an account of all my getting drunk experiences and whether this shall continue or NOT! I am leaning more towards the NOT but like I had stated before, this is a learning experience for me, One where I decided where I want to be in life and the path I am going to take to get there. There are so many things I haven’t learnt and experienced so I am taking the time off to accomplish alot. And yes, Being single does suck… SOMETIMES… Ok Most times :)

Too often than None I have caught glimpses of girls attempting to color/colour co-ordinate their outfits. Some colours have been a bit outrageous. If you are a neutral-colour person just like me, I think its time to “spice” up that wardrobe.

The art is simply Colour blocking and it is way simpler than you can imagine. Trust me. Colour Block combines the use of two or more blocks of colour in an ensemble. This could be for a top, bottom, tunic, a dress and even a handbag or shoes. Simply it means – creating an outfit by putting areas or blocks of solid color next to each other. It can include monotone, bright colours, muted colors, contrasting and complimentary colors. Clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories can all feature color block designs or can make up different blocks of color to be put together for a color block outfit.

So how can one achieve a balanced look via a colour wheel?

Firstly, to make this easy, a colour wheel can be used for pairing/stacking up the colours.

Colours can be stacked by forming a T on the colour wheel with 3 colours (eg: Blue-green, red-orange and Violet), forming 90-degree angles (eg: green and yellow)  or adjacent colours or straight-line colours on the wheel (eg: blue and orange) …

Really tiring day. Today was my first day being a Hospital volunteer. I am already soaking in the experience and I do think this is going to make me appreciate so much more in life. Got home and flew those heels on opposite corners of the room then immediately went to my comfy chair… Or MY THRONE (renamed)!!
Somehow my itunes was on shuffle and Ryan Cabrera came on. You guys remember Ryan? NO? He was that guy int he early 2000′s who appeared in Ashley SImpson’s video but more importantly is a talented musician! HE actually can play an instrument (or two). It’s you came on and this (being in this situation) reminded me how much I use to Love this song… SO I have decided to share it with my readers.

A bit awkward to have me posting about the perfect salad since I rarely eat salads. Recently, my friend had a dinner party and she did prepare a “bomb” salad with apples, pecans and honey vinaigrette. Then I encountered it again the second time I chose to have Salad. I then did some googling and incase it is not known, here is a recipe :) …

Pecan Salad

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 2 teaspoons plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces mixed baby greens
  • 1 ripe but firm Hass avocado, peeled and cut into bite-size cubes
  • 1 ripe but firm mango, peeled and cut into bite-size cubes
  • Sea salt

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a medium skillet, melt the butter. Add the pecans and cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until the nuts turn a deeper brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Sprinkle with 2 teaspoons of the sugar and the cayenne and stir just until the sugar dissolves. Turn the nuts onto parchment or wax paper to cool.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, mustard, salt and the remaining tablespoon of sugar.
  3. In a large serving bowl, combine the greens, avocado, mango and pecans. Toss with the dressing and season to taste with salt.

I have never been a fan of hats… Even though i played tennis for many years in St.Lucia under the scorching sun. A visor meant nothing to me but lately, since I have been becoming really self conscious, I think its time to invest in a “hat”… A cute fedora hat comes to mind.
